Content & Development 40 %	Excellent - Content is comprehensive, accurate and persuasive - Major points are stated clearly and are well supported. - Research is thorough, timely and addresses course concepts. - Content and purpose of the writing are well developed.	Good -Content is somewhat comprehensive, accurate and persuasive. - Major points are stated and supported. -Research is adequate, timely and addresses course concepts. - Content and purpose of the writing are clear.	Fair - Content is not comprehensive and/or persuasive. - Major points are addressed, but not well supported. - Research is inadequate or does not address course concepts. - Content is inconsistent with regard to purpose and clarity of thought.	Poor - Content is not acceptable. - Major points are not clear and/or persuasive.
Organization & Structure 40 %	Excellent - Structure of each paragraph is clear and easy to follow.	Good -Organization of paper is less clear and not as easy to follow.	Fair - Structure of the paragraph(s) is not easy to follow. - Paragraph transitions need improvement.	Poor - Organization and structure detract from the message of the writer. - Paragraph is disjointed and lack transition of thoughts.
Mechanics and Usage 20 %	Excellent -Paper has 0-3 errrors in grammar and punctuation. - Paper does not meet length requirement. -Hardly any sources are cited and paper does not follow APA format guidelines.	Good -Paper has 4-6 errors in grammar and punctuation. - Paper does not meet length requirement. -Sources are not cited correctly and paper does not follow APA format guidelines.	Fair - Paper has 7-9 errors in grammar and punctuation. - Paper meets length requirement. -Sources cited correctly and paper follows APA format guidelines.	Poor - Paper has 10 or more errors in grammar and punctuation. - Paper meets length requirement. -Sources cited correctly and paper follows APA format guidelines
