DSM-V Assignments

Students will write 6 summaries over major categories of child and adolescent disorders: • Neurodevelopmental Disorders • Trauma & Stressor Related Disorders • Feeding & Eating Disorders • Elimination Disorders • Disruptive, Impulse Control, & Conduct Disorders • Other disorders – Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, Separation Anxiety Disorder, Selective Mutism, Gender Dysphoria in Children (While these belong to various groups, they are important when working with kids.)

Content & Development	Excellent/Good - Content is comprehensive, accurate, and addresses the assignment within the sentence/word count of the assignment. <BR> - Ideas are presented in a clear and understandable manner.<BR> - Major points are stated clearly and are well supported.<BR> - Research (if used) is adequate, timely and addresses course concepts.<BR> - Content and purpose of the writing are clear.	Good/Fair - Content is not comprehensive and/or does not address the assignment within the sentence/word count of the assignment. <BR> - Major points are addressed, but not well supported. (Topic sentences present but not supported).<BR> - Research (if used) is inadequate or does not address course concepts.<BR> - Content is inconsistent with regard to purpose (assignment) and clarity of thought.	Fair/Poor - Content is incomplete.<BR> - Major points are not clear and /or persuasive.<BR> - Unclear if writer understands purpose (assignment).
