Paraphrasing / Effort 10 pts The essay/article should be summarized in the student's own words.	Poor Some or all of the summary is simply copied from the text. Little or no effort to use own words to effectively summarize.	Fair-Good -The student tries to use own words to effectively summarize the passage, however inaccurately. -Effort to avoid plagiarism.	Very Good-Excellent -The student employs thoughtful ways to use own words to summarize. -strong efforts to avoid plagiarism.
Spelling and Punctuation 10 pts Grammar & Vocabulary	Poor -Frequent errors in spelling/accentuation and - Paper contains numerous grammatical errors. -Meaning blocked as text dominated by errors. -Range of vocabulary extremely limited. -English interference frequent.punctuation.	Fair-Good -Occasional faults in spelling/accentuation and punctuation. - Paper contains few grammatical errors. - Language lacks clarity at times. -Vocabulary accurate but may be somewhat limited. -Some areas of English interference may be present but meaning rarely obscured.	Very Good-Excellent -Very few or no faults with respect to spelling/accentuation and punctuation -Wide range of structures with few or no significant errors. - Rules of grammar and vocabulary usage followed. - Language is clear and precise; sentences display consistently strong, varied structure. -Little or no evidence of English interference.
