Students will create a 3-5 minute short film in the genre of horror, thriller, action, sci-fi, or fantasy with a strong underlying message. You may use any type of media you feel most comfortable with.

You all are requested to watch any particular movie and take 5 screen shot of 5 different scenes from that particular movie and discuss 5 components of mise-en-scene. So you have to watch a film and critically analyse its 5 components of mise-en-scene. What impact does the mise-en-scene have on your understanding of the film? Using the following rubric, write a 1 page review of three current events on a health promotion topics. At least one article should be from a national newspaper. You may also use articles found on an online newspaper or a local newspaper.

This rubric will be used to assess students' ability to focus on a topic of national importance and support their arguments with specific evidence from the materials studied, and how well they can use arguments based on factual information to persuade.

The student will put together a poster for display. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to their chosen journalism historical topic. Students will collect pictures (at least 3) and include facts to create a creative and colorful poster. The poster will be designed on a single sheet of poster paper. The poster sheet may be shaped creatively to align with the topic.

Students will be provided TV Commercial Video Link and they are asked to analyze the particular ad on the basis of appeal and SWOT analysis which has been applied into it. They will follow the format provided and use examples for support. Below is the Guidelines for scoring an ad analysis.

Create a PR campaign. Students need to develop a PR campaign, for a product of their choice, that would appear in a magazine, Newspaper TV Channel.

For this presentation you must compose a poster to display that resembles a Bill Board Advertisement. You must use all of the principles of either AIDA,DAGMAR or Maslow’s Hierarchy Model in your schematic. Eg in AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire and Action). You can choose a product, or a business to open.

Students are asked to create a 30 to 60 second TV commercial. The purpose of this project is to advertise your teams mock product. Brainstorm an idea, create a script or storyboard, execute the filming, and edit a 30 to 60 sec commercial. Your commercial must be entertaining and get people interested in your product and must be accompanied by an explanation of how you incorporated one particular category of appeal which I taught in the class.
