Visual Vocabulary (Literary Device Word Wall) 
The students will work in pairs to put together a poster of a literary device that will be displayed during a classroom "gallery walk."

Excellent

The poster includes all information relevant to the topic. The poster is creative, clear and concise. The student added information above what was taught in class or required for assignment.

The example is incorrect.
Fair

The example is close, but does not represent the term completely accurately or it may be unclear.
Good

The example accurately represents the term and it's definition.
Excellent

The poster includes more than one clever example that clearly and accurately represent the term and it's definition.
Work quality/effort

Poor

Work is done with little effort. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete.
Fair

The poster is adequate. There are multiple erasures, visual/color difficulties, or errors in conventions that make the overall poster less than appealing. It is evident that the work was rushed.
Good

The poster looks nice. There may be some erasures or White-outs that distract from the overall presentation -or- colors that make it very difficult for the reader to be able to read/view the work.
Excellent

The poster looks very neat; it is easy to see that much effort was put into it. There are very few erasures or White-outs. The colors are visible on the chosen background.
Graphics

Poor

Not good use of space on poster. Messy. Lacks color, texture. Student uses superfluous graphics or no graphics
Fair

Student occasionally uses graphics that rarely support text and presentation.
Good

Student's graphics relate to text and presentation.
Excellent

Eye catching. Great use of graphics and spacing on poster. Student's graphics explain and reinforce screen text and presentation.
Mechanics

Poor

Student's poster has three or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors. It contains several convention errors. Project was turned in late.
Fair

Poster has two misspellings and/or grammatical errors. It may have some errors in conventions.
Good

Poster has no more than one misspelling and/or grammatical error. It has few errors in conventions.
Excellent

Poster has no misspellings or grammatical errors. It has correct conventions throughout.
