The students will design a poster demonstrating understanding of the novel using symbolism to explain thematic concepts. Symbols must be defined as well as linked to a quotation in the novel.

Excellent - A

All symbols must be defined. Every symbol requires a quotation as evidence to support the interpretation of the symbol. The quotation is thoughtfully aligned with the symbol. The analysis between the quotation and symbol is insightful and well-developed linking the symbol to either characterization, conflict, theme, mood, tone, and/or historical context of the novel. Language is grammatically correct and there are no spelling and punctuation errors. MLA format and proper citations are used.
