Social Studies Project / Presentation

Students will research information on court cases that impacted the Civil Rights movement. They will then present these to the class in a 2-3 minute presentation.

Content	Distinguished The presentation includes all required facts with no factual inaccuracies.	Proficient The presentation includes most relevant information; information is organized.	Developing Does not have all of the required facts and the presentation is a bit disorganized.	Begining The presentation is lacking in facts required. There are many gaps in information presented.
Work quality/effort	Distinguished The work done exceeds all expectations. The effort put into this task is the best it can be by the learner.	Proficient Work is done with good effort that shows the capability of the learner. It is evident that time was put into this project.	Developing Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed or not given appropriate time and attention.	Begining Work is done with little effort, shows lack of quality, and may be incomplete. It is evident little time was spent on the final product.
Presentation	Distinguished The student is well-prepared, presents the information clearly, and displays a complete understanding of the information.	Proficient The student presents the information clearly and displays a reasonable understanding of their information.	Developing The information presented is not clearly displayed consistently throughout the project.	Begining Not enough preparation was done for the presentation of the information. It lacks the expected organization and flow.
References	Distinguished The student uses research supported references and cites these appropriately.	Proficient The student uses research supported references but there are errors in the citations.	Developing The student uses research supported references but does not cite the references.	Begining The references are inaccurate and not research supported.
