MyPlate Assessment Rubric

1. Students will use a nine-inch paper plate to create their own MyPlate. 2. Color plate to resemble the colors on MyPlate. 3. Label each food group and cut or draw foods (at least two foods per group) that represents MyPlate food groups.

Content Knowledge -Labeled MyPlate correctly.	Poor 2 food groups are accurately displayed on the plate.	Fair 3 food groups are accurately displayed on the plate.	Good 4 food groups are accurately displayed on the plate.	Excellent All 5 food groups are displayed on the plate.
Work quality/effort -Effort -Quality -Neat	Poor Work is done with little effort, quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete.	Fair Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed.	Good The work was done with good effort that shows what the learner is capable of. It is evident that time was put into this plate and presentation.	Excellent The work done meeting all expectations and shows that the learner is proud of his/her work. The effort that was put into this task is the best it can be by the learner.
Creativity -Use of color	Poor Lacks creativity. Not good use of space. Messy. Lacks color.	Fair Not very appealing. Limited use of creative materials. Not alot of color/shapes/design.	Good Contains good creativity. Lots of colors, shapes, and appealing design. Shows the student spent time creating an artistic piece.	Excellent Eye catching. Great use of colors, shapes, and spacing. Artwork is neat. Writing is easy to read.
