Content Knowledge

Exemplary

The poster has the required elements demonstrated in the appropriate section. A chosen cell, tissue, organ, and organ system building to the complete organism. The extra poster section is used to show a problem that faces the organism and its survival. Each section is illustrated and has a written explanation or a labeled diagram to explain its function within the organism.
Accomplished

Poster includes all required elements in each section. A chosen cell, tissue, organ, organ system and building to the complete organism. The extra poster section is for a problem that faces the organism itself that will affect survival. Each section is illustrated and has a written explanation or a labeled diagram to explain its function within the organism.
Developing

Poster is missing or lacking explanations/illustration for one to two required elements. Did not clearly show/explain their chosen cell, tissue, organ, organ system and building to the complete organism. Could be missing the extra poster section for a problem facing the organism and its survival.
Beginning

The poster is missing 3 or more elements required. There are many gaps in information presented. Confusing.
Work quality/effort

Exemplary

The work done exceeds expectations. It shows that the learner is proud of his/her work. The effort that was put into this task is the best it can be by the learner. Class work time was used effectively and work done at home was observable each day in class. Student had materials and resources each day and was prepared to work.
Accomplished

The work was done with an effort that shows that the learner is capable of high quality work. Class time was mostly used effectively and there were observable changes in the progress of the poster each day.
Developing

Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed. Class time was not used effectively and work at home was not consistently observable.
Beginning

Work is done with little effort, quality is not near grade level work. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Poster is incomplete, unorganized and/or confusing to the reader.
Creativity

Exemplary

Eye catching and a clear plan or design. Great use of colors, texture, shapes, lettering and use of space. Illustrations are done by the student & is neat. Writing is easy to read or typed. Shows the student can visually express ideas and conceptual understanding.
Accomplished

Contains students own writing and drawing.Used a variety of colors, shapes, lettering and has an appealing design. Shows the student spent time and effort to construct a creative visual display of their learning.
Developing

Not very appealing. Limited use of creative materials. No evidence of a design or plan. Most of the drawings/writing are the student's own but overall the project shows a lack of time commitment and effort to sharing their understanding.
Beginning

Messy. Lacks an organizational structure to convey information. Illustrations and writing are not hand drawn or the student's own work. Creative use of materials is missing.
Requirements
