PowerPoint Presentation Rubric 
This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when composing the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the PowerPoint presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your destination have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

Slides show clear understanding of the case study with mostly accurate information and explains evolutionary concepts with minor gaps.
Fair

Slides show basic understanding of the topic but lacks depth, detailed explanation, or strong connections to evolutionary principles.
Poor

Slides contain information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or shows little understanding of evolution or the selected case study.
Graphics/Visual Presentations Boards

The quality, clarity, and effectiveness of visual elements used to support the presentation.

Excellent

Slides and visuals are clear, relevant, and enhance understanding of the evolutionary process (e.g., diagrams, timelines, data, images).
Very Good

Slides and visuals support the presentation and relate to the case study, though some may lack detail or clarity.
Fair

Slides and visuals are included but may be unclear, minimally connected to the topic, or lack explanation.
Poor

How well the presentation is structured, organized, and logically sequenced.

Excellent

The presentation is well coordinated. All material is presented using language that is original. Speaker is well informed and elaborates beyond the displayed material. Presentation is logically organized with a clear introduction, explanation of the evolutionary changes, supporting evidence, and strong conclusion.
Very Good

The presentation is well coordinated. Most material is presented in new form and not as it is written on the screen. Presentation is mostly organized and easy to follow, with minor lapses in flow or clarity.
Fair

The presenters make minimal eye contact with the audience. Everything is read directly from the screen or page. Presentation shows some organization but ideas may be out of order or transitions unclear.
Poor

The presenters make no contact with the audience. Everything is read directly from the screen of page. Presentation lacks clear structure and is difficult to follow.

How effectively the presenter manages and stays within the assigned time limit.

Excellent

Consistently used class time productively for research, preparation, and development of the project; stayed focused, met deadlines, and showed strong initiative.
Very Good

Used most class time effectively with minimal distractions; completed research and preparation with only minor redirection needed.
Fair

Used some class time appropriately but was occasionally off-task; research or preparation may be incomplete or rushed.
Poor

Frequently off-task during work time; limited research or preparation completed during class; required repeated redirection.
Overall Presentation grade

The presenter's preparedness, clarity, confidence, and ability to engage the audience.

Excellent

Presenter is confident, prepared, speaks clearly, and effectively engages the audience while explaining evolutionary concepts. All required criterion is met and goes above and beyond instructor expectations of presentation.
Very Good

Presenter is prepared and understandable, with minor issues in delivery or engagement. Some required criterion is met. And meets some instructor expectations.
Fair

Presenter shows limited preparations or confidence and relies heavily on notes. Minimal criterion and instructor expectations met.
Poor

Presenter appears unprepared, difficult to hear or understand, and unable to explain the evolutionary case study clearly. Lack of required criterion adherence and instructor expectations not met at all.
