Understanding task	Unacceptable Did not know any aspect of the task to do and had no idea what the task was. This a a frequent occurance of not being able to explain the task.	Poor Knew there was a task to do but could not explain what it was. This is an regular occurance of not being able to explain the task.	Adequate Had a fair idea of what the task was and only a general idea of how it was to be done. This is an occasional occurance.	Proficient There was a good understanding what the task was and how it was to be done. This is a regular occurance.	Excellent The student knew exactly what the task was and how it was to be done. Student shows excellent understanding of task and this occursance happens most of the time
Listening	Unacceptable Appeared to be totally absorbed in some other activity. (playing with something, drawing, getting up at inappropriate times.)	Poor Appeared to be focused, but was internally or frequently distracted. (daydreaming)	Adequate Shows evidence of listening but was not totally focused on the directions.	Proficient Shows good evidence of listening and appeared to be paying attention with some interaction.
