Poster rubric 
Students will work in groups to create a poster for a class public health campaign. The topics will be pre-selected and the posters will be created in a uniform size and similar layout such that they can be presented together on the school bulletin board.

The poster is lacking in content and a coherent message regarding the topic is not presented. Insufficient details as to the specific community issues are not included.
Level 2

Does not have all of the relevant information on the assigned topic. There is not enough information presented. Information is presented in an unorganized fashion and may be hard for some community members to understand.
Level 3

Poster includes most of the relevant information and content is mostly well organized and coherent
Level 4

The poster includes all information relevant to the topic. The poster is creative, clear and concise. The student added information above what was taught in class or required for assignment.
Work quality/effort

Level 1

Work is done with little effort, quality is not what the group is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete.
Level 2

Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what the group is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed.
Level 3

The work was done with good effort that shows what the group is capable of. It is evident that time was put into this poster and presentation.
Level 4

The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the group was engaged with the project and is proud of their work. The effort that was put into this task reflects the best of the group's capabilities.
Creativity

Level 1

Lacks original artwork or photographs of the community/healthy choices. Not students own drawing/writing. Poor use of space on poster. Messy. Lacks color, texture.
Level 2

Not very appealing. Limited use of creative materials. Not a lot of color/shapes/design elements. Most of the drawings/writing or photographs were done by the group.
Level 3

Contains students' own writing and drawing.Lots of colors, shapes, and appealing design. Shows the students spent time creating an artistic and effective piece.
Level 4

Eye catching. Great use of colors, texture, shapes, and spacing on poster. Artwork is the students' own & is neat. Writing is easy to read. Shows the student can express ideas through art and effectively communicate health information.

Level 1

Does not meet teachers expectations or students' potential.
Level 2

Few areas of project meets teachers expectations or students' potential.
Level 3

Numerous areas of project meets teachers expectations and students' potential.
Level 4
