What Does My Grade Look Like? 
The following rubric is so students and parents will know what is expected of students regarding attendence, participation, cooperation, individual/group work, and critical/creative thinking. Students should use this rubric often to keep track of how they are performing and the grade they can expect to earn.

Attendance/Promptness

Comes to class to learn and participate. Able to get started in class immediately without missing any details or directions.

Late to class more than once every 2 weeks and regularly attends classes.
C+ B

Late to class once every 2 weeks and regularly attends classes.

Always prompt and regularly attends classes.
Effort/Participation

Classes will provide students with what students provide to the class.

Often has to be asked to complete tasks or assignments. Only participates 50% of class time, and then only when called on.
F

Does not complete tasks or assignments even with prompting from the teacher. Doesn't participate in classwork or discussions.
C- C

Does just enough to get by. Completes tasks but not timely. Student is slow to participate and contribute.
C+ B

Completes tasks in timely manner participates and contributes for 75% of class time, always when called on. Should participate in class discussions more.
A

Completes tasks in a positive way. Constantly active in participation and contributes for 90% or more of class time.
Cooperation

Students should be able to get along with others, share and listen to ideas, and follow class rules.

Follows directions and rules 50% of class time. Occasionally argues with others. Is reluctant to cooperate with others during learning. Sometimes distracts others from learning.

Does not follow directions and rules. Argues with classmates or teacher. Does not cooperate with or help other classmates when doing group work. Distracts others often.
C- C

Usually follows directions and rules but needs to cooperate more with teacher and/or classmates. Minimal interaction with others during group work.
C+ B

Follows directions and rules for the majority of class. Listens to and shares ideas. Does not distract others from learning.
A

Follows directions and rules entire class time. Encourages other students to learn. Listens to and shares ideas. Does not distract others from learning.
Individual Assignments

Students should be able to deomonstrate evidence of understanding verbally and in writing.

Partial assignments completed. Put forth some effort and tried to work some of the assignment. Work shows INCOMPLETE evidence of learning.

Assignments not turned in or showed no effort during group work. Work shows POOR evidence of learning.
C- C

Most assignments completed and/or many errors. Work shows AVERAGE evidence of learning. Work sometimes late or incomplete.
C+ B

All assignments completed but with some errors. Work shows GOOD evidence of learning. Put forth a good effort. Work is rarely or never late.
A

All assignments completed with no/few errors. Showed work on assignment. Put forth a lot of effort. Work is always neat and on time.
Critical/Creative Thinking

Be able to think clearly and logically to solve problems and form conclustions based on observations and evidence.

Demonstrates clear thought most of the time and can explain most of the content/answers with evidence, needing reminders for the rest.

Demonstrates clear thought the majority of the time and can explain your answers with evidence.
