The following rubric is so students and parents will know what is expected of students regarding attendence, participation, cooperation, individual/group work, and critical/creative thinking. Students should use this rubric often to keep track of how they are performing and the grade they can expect to earn.

This rubric is to be used to assess a student's final copy of an newspaper article that must address the five W's.

Students create an informational poster on one human organ. The poster contains one paragraph describing the organ and how it works, another paragraph describing a cell that is part of this organ and how this cell is specialized, and a neatly labelled diagram of the organ.

Students will make a collage describing themselves and their lives using images and words cut out from a variety of magazines.

The new Prime Minister hates curves, and has commissioned a new Geometric Town to be built. Students must sketch a house to be included in this new town on the following conditions: 1) The house must be made of polygons only. 2) The hosue must contain at least 4 different types of polygons. 3) The measurements of every angle inside the house must be written down. 4) Students will choose 2 polygons from the house, and on a separate sheet of paper, they will describe at least 3 different attributes of the polygon eg: identify if it is a regular/irregular polygon, concave/convex polygon, how many equal sides/angles the shape contains, if the shape is a triangle, the type of triangle, etc.
