Classroom Assignments Expectations 
This rubric has been designed to assess students' on-task performance for in-class assignments with an accuracy level of 80%. Student needs to achieve scores of 3 in 4 areas and scores of 4 in 1 area to achieve 80% accuracy.

Student completed the assignment(s), but needed frequent redirection from the teacher and/or peers.
Standard Work

Student completed the assignment(s), but needed one or two reminders to redirect their attention from the teacher and/or peers.
Deluxe Work

Student demonstrated motivation and focus while completing the assignment(s). S/he was not a distraction to other students working around him/her.
Participation

Getting Started

Student did not constructively participate in the activity at all.
Work in Progress

Student was slow to participate in the activity and only participated constructively 50% of the time.
Standard Work

Student participated constructively in the activity for at least 80% of the time.
Deluxe Work

Student was constantly active and participated constructively in the activity for 90% or more of the time.
Cooperation

Getting Started

Student did not follow directions and rules. Student argued with classmates or teacher concerning the task. S/he did not assist other students.
Work in Progress

Student followed directions and rules 50% of the time. S/he occasionally argued with others concerning the task. Student was not able to assist other students.
Standard Work

Student followed directions and rules for the majority of class. S/he did not argue with others concerning the task and when asked, assisted other students.
Deluxe Work

Student followed directions and rules for the entire class time. Student shared his/her creative ideas and encouraged other students.
Noise level

Getting Started

Many warnings were given to the student concerning noise level, buts/he did not make necessary corrections to his/her behavior.
Work in Progress

When warnings were given regarding noise level being too loud, student responded positively.
S/he was given two or more reminders.
Standard Work

Student's noise level was acceptable for the most of the time. Only one warning was given concerning noise.
Deluxe Work

Student's noise level was not an issue. No warnings were given.
Student also reminded others to maintain acceptable volume.
Following Directions

Getting Started

Student was unable to follow directions due to being off task or unwillingness to work. Even when redirected, student did not follow directions.
Work in Progress

Student followed the directions, but only minimally. Student did not consistently follow directions in order to understand the task and/or improve their performance.
Standard Work

Student followed all directions. When confused, student respectfully asked for clarification.
Deluxe Work

Student followed all directions using a creative and thoughtful approach. When confused, student re-read the directions in order to understand the task.
