Integer Timeline

Basic Rubric for evaluating a single timeline presented on a large sheet of paper or through a Google product available on the student's Google school account. Objective: Apply and extend previous understandings of integers, rational numbers, and absolute value on a number line that corresponds to events in your life, past, present, and future.

	Superior 10 pts	Good 8 pts	Fair 6 pts	Poor 4 pts
Timeline Title Add a title so people know it is a timeline of your life. * Please be sure to include your name and class period as well.	Superior Title: specific, appropriate, accurate, capitalized and spelled correctly	Good Title: is specific and appropriate, but not accurate nor capitalized or spelled correctly	Fair Title: is somewhat specific, but is not appropriate, nor capitalized or spelled correctly	Poor Title: is not specific, appropriate, accurate nor capitalized or spelled correctly
Labeling/Chronology Labels are accurate with past events on the negative side and future events on the positive side in the right order.	Superior Each event has: Date & Corresponding number, Specific label, Properly placed in chronological order Clear and easily read. Has a minimum of 10 events.	Good Has most of the required events: Most of the events are relevant and properly labelled. Somewhat clear and easily read. Has no more than 8 events	Fair Has some of the required events: Some events may be mislabeled and/or irrelevant. Not very clear or easily read. Has no more than 6 events	Poor Has few of the required events: Multiple events are mislabeled or not placed accurately in the timeline. Missing information Has less than 4 events
Math Requirements Events are accurately represented with an integer or rational number.	Superior Events are placed in order and appropriately represented and spaced on the timeline.	Good Events are, for the most part, placed in order and appropriately represented and spaced on the timeline.	Fair Events are not placed appropriately represented and/or spaced on the timeline.	Poor Events and their number representations are missing
Pictures/Illustrations Good pictures and illustrations add interest and personality.	Superior Made illustrations and/or pictures that were clear, relevant and artistic.	Good Made pictures and/or illustrations for most events; though, quality of the images was merely adequate.	Fair Included pictures and/or illustrations for some events.	Poor No attempt was made to illustrate timeline or use clip-art/pictures.
Detailed, Attractive & Neat Adding details and color makes any project better. Make it POP! Quality work is important! Make it neat and legible.	Superior The timeline has lots of details and color that make it really POP! It really grabbed my attention Shows careful thought & planning. Understandable. Legible. Neat.	Good The timeline has some details and color that make it POP! Shows thought & planning. Mostly: Understandable. Legible. Neat.
