Map Elements	Exceeding (Level 4) Includes all elements of a map - very easy to read	Meeting (Level 3) Includes most standard map elements - most are accurate and easy to read	Approaching (Level 2) Missing several map elements	Beginning (Level 1) Missing most standard map elements
Map Legend	Exceeding (Level 4) Contains at least 5 symbols (key) that are represented accurately on the map - symbols are clear and easy to follow	Meeting (Level 3) Contains approximately 4 symbols (key) that are represented somewhat accurately on the map - symbols are fairly clear and somewhat easy to follow	Approaching (Level 2) Contains less than 4 symbols (key) that are not represented accurately on the map - symbols may be difficult to read and difficult to follow	Beginning (Level 1) Contains little to no symbols (key) - map is very messy
Visual Appeal	Exceeding (Level 4) Very colorful and clean looking - labels are neat and easy to read	Meeting (Level 3) Some color - not as clean or colorful as before - lables are fairly neat and somewhat easy to read	Approaching (Level 2) Limited use of color - labels are somewhat difficult to read - proper materials no utilized - labels somewhat difficult to read	Beginning (Level 1) Very little or no use of color - labels are very difficult to read - messy
Directions	Exceeding (Level 4) Directions to one location from another is described thoroughly	Meeting (Level 3) Directions to one location from another is described with or without minor errors	Approaching (Level 2) Directions to one location from another has many errors.
