This rubric is used for a one point perspective city or landscape drawing.

Make a presentation (Media Literacy; Oral Communication) about the sitcom you chose. In your presentation you will answer questions from your planning sheet (April 15th). You are encouraged to include additional information about your sitcom. You can IF YOU WANT (optional) write and perform part of an episode from your sitcom with two other classmates. You can also show a 10 minute clip from your sitcom in your presentation. Presentations will be from Monday, May 1 to Friday May 10th.

Rubric for evaluating student presentations based on their bill into law presentations, which will be week of February 11th, 2019. (Marks for term 2, Social Studies, Oral Communication, Writing, Media Literacy) TOTAL = / 60 marks (2 marks subtracted per day for every day late)

Students will create a 5 to 10 minute television news broadcast based on their Literacy Circle book. (Report Card Expectations: Media Literacy; Writing)

The students will complete a poster for Black History month. The poster will contain information about a Black History topic of their choice. It will be designed on paper provided by me. Students can use technology. Posters are due: Friday, Feb. 26. The student will give a presentation (1 to 2 minutes). (Mon. March 1 or Tuesday March 2 )

Pretend your book has been made into a movie. Create a POSTER to advertise your "movie"(book). Your poster should be easy to read. Your poster must be on at least 34 x 45 cm size paper (or larger). Do NOT copy the Book's cover. Your poster is due on Tuesday, March 6th or Wednesday, March 7. Complete three (or more) book into movie posters by the beginning of June. This is a Media Literacy Mark. With permission from me, you may use technology. Total Marks: / 60

Students will work to create a "tapestry" on a board, which will show the beginning, middle, and end of a story from South Asian literature. Total Marks: /60 Note: Technology can be used instead! (powerpoint, Prezi, Explain Everything, etc.) Producing Media Texts (from the curriculum) 3.4 students in grade 7 will produce a variety of media texts of some technical complexity for specific purposes and audiences, using appropriate forms, conventions, and techniques.

Create a poster or brochure that illustrates the idea of ONE of these terms, as they apply to ANTARCTICA (a) economic (b) political (c) social (d) environment. Follow the instructions on your "Tourists threaten Antarctica" sheet. Read the article. You may also use an electronic device. Work in groups of 2 or 3. Your poster will be marked /40.

Read the VE article about Bob and Beryl (May 8th). Select one of the 5 websites on VE Day from your activity sheet. Create a timeline based on either (a) the article or (b) the website. Your timeline is due on Wednesday, May 20th. It will be marked out of /30. 2 marks will be deducted for every day late.

History (and Social Studies) notebooks are collected on Monday, March 2nd for 7A; and Thursday, March 5th for 6/7. Let Mr. Bhaduri know if you need to borrow a textbook.

Students will write a poem based on "Poetry and Remembrance". The poem or poems submitted should be between 16 and 20 lines in length. Rough copy due Tuesday, November 8th. Final copy (typed) and illustration due Thursday November 10th. Drama Presentations begin Wednesday, November 9th.

Create a placemat demonstrating your understanding of one of (a) the Battle of Detroit (b) Sir Isaac Brock (c) Tecumseh , or (d) General William Hull. Do a rough copy first, and show me. Due: Wednesday May 3rd or Thursday, May 4th or Friday May 5th or Monday, May 8th. Placemats will be marked out of /40. Placemats submitted after Monday, May 8th will result in a 2 mark deduction per day.

Tourism, the Wonders of the World, and the Five Themes of Geography. You may sign out a textbook (unit 1) to review the five themes, (Place, Movement, Environment, Interaction, Region). Your finished product is in a format of your choice. You must submit a separate notebook on Feb 1 (7A) or Feb. 6 (7B). You will be given 6 class periods to work on your project. 7A presentations start Feb. 1 7B presentations start Feb. 6th. Total Marks = /80.

Placemat rubric for Tecumseh and General William Hull. Students are working in groups; each student will get a mark. The total mark is /40 for each student. You will also get a group work mark out of /10. You are responsible for point form notes from the text, which will form the basis of your next test. Placemat due date: Wednesday, April 27th if doing one placemat; Friday, April 29th if doing two.
