This assessment will be used to evaluate what level of art middle school art students will enter in high school and what level of art high school students are in Art I, II, III, and Studio Art

The students are writing a S.M.A.R.T goal. Clearly define the goal, or objective by explaining how each part of the statement is S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely).

Draw artwork/line drawing of a photo image provided using grid lines to reproduce appropriately to proper scale and proportion.

The purpose of the this rubric is to allow the educator to determine the success or lack there of regarding the implementation of Center Based Art .

Students will complete a minimum of 5 prints. Compositions should include variety, balance, and unity. Embellishments and background should be considered.

Create a series of gesture drawings to communicate a word. There should be a minimum of 3 drawings to communicate the meaning of the word. You may use any drawing medium and any word with the end goal of storytelling and movement. Find your own visual references and record them in a Google Slide. As discussed you may use the gestures of people, hands, or animals to communicate your word. Be creative and expressive with your composition.

Students will create a bowl or platter using the soft slab drape method. The bowl may have interesting glaze, sgraffito, or sculptural decorations.
