SMART Goal SMART Goal The students are writing a S.M.A.R.T goal. Clearly define the goal, or objective by explaining how each part of the statement is S.M.A.R.T. SMART GOALS MARKING PERIOD 1 Specific goals have much greater chance of being accomplished.
	Distinguished 10 pts	Proficient 7 pts	Unsatisfactory 5 pts
Specific 10 pts Did the student answer the guided questions to establish a SPECIFIC goal.	Distinguished The S.M.A.R.T Goal is clearly defined and meets all the characteristics of a SMART goal.	Proficient The S.M.A.R.T goals is unclear. Meets 2-3 of the characteristics of SMART goals.	Unsatisfactory The S.M.A.R.T goals is not complete. Meets less than 2 of the characteristics of SMART goals.
Measurable 10 pts Student include specific date when goal will be reviewed.	Distinguished The student identifies the specific number/amount for their fitness test goal.	Proficient The students gives a general number of what their goal is or not a fitness test.	Unsatisfactory The student did not include a number indicating what the goal will be for their fitness test.
Achievable 10 pts Describes steps to reach personal goal. Are they logical??	Distinguished The student designs a clear strategy for attaining his or her goals by discussing a personal growth plan.	Proficient The student designs an unclear strategy for attaining his or her goals. The personal growth plan does not provide a clear progression for growth.	Unsatisfactory The student fails to develop a strategy for attaining his or her goal.
Realistic 10 pts How strong is the workmanship? Did the student establish a relevant goal to be monitored.	Distinguished The Smart Goal is relevant and well thought out. The goal is centered around one of the Fitness Test.	Proficient The goal present is SMART however it is not realistic or the goal is not centered around one of the Fitness Test.	Unsatisfactory Very little thought was given to the SMART goal. Student skimmed the surface and was not aware of weakness
Timely 10 pts When are you going to try and reach this goal by? Give a specific time.	Distinguished The student gives an exact date or time that they will complete their goal.	Proficient The student gives a general time frame or the student does not give enough time to reach their goal.	Unsatisfactory No time frame or date is given at all.
