Vocabulary Rubric - Frayer Model

When asked to define vocabulary. Students will use the Frayer Model to explain the vocabulary words. Students will write the word, define the word, write a sentence using the word and draw a picture explaining the word. (C.C.R.S.T.1)

Examples	Level 4 rating Word is used in a sentence with context clues that shows you know what it means.	level 3 rating The word is clearly used in a sentence that shows a deep understanding of its meaning.	level 2 rating Word is used correctly in a sentence, but there are no context clues to show the meaning.	level 1 rating The word is not used correctly OR the sentence is not complete.
Characteristics	Level 4 rating The characteristics explain the word in detail and is a clear, neat, and organized.	level 3 rating The characteristics are neat, and explains the word clearly.	level 2 rating The characteristics are neat, and explains part of the word.	level 1 rating No characteristics listed.
