You are capable of doing much better. 2 pts	Does Not Meet Expectations Poor work is defined as not doing a good job and no real effort was put forth. 1 pts
Writing	Exceeds Expectations Information is interesting and shows a clear understanding of the chosen animal. Student included at least 4 facts about their animal. Writing is clear with no grammatical errors.	Meets Expectations Information is somewhat interesting and shows an understanding of the chosen animal. Student included at least 3 facts about their animal. Writing is clear with few grammatical errors.	Progressing Towards Expectations Information is somewhat confusing and shows an understanding of the animal. Student included at least 2 facts about their animal. Writing is somewhat confusing with some grammatical errors.	Does Not Meet Expectations Information is confusing and shows little to no understanding of the animal. Student included at least 0 -1 facts about their animal or just stated the name of the animal. Writing is confusing.
Picture	Exceeds Expectations Picture is very creative and neat. Picture shows the animal in detail and in its native habitat.	Meets Expectations Picture is somewhat creative and neat. Picture shows the animal with some detail.	Progressing Towards Expectations Picture is somewhat messy and confusing. Picture shows the animal with little detail.	Does Not Meet Expectations Picture is messy and confusing. The picture does not show any understanding of the animal.
Presentation	Exceeds Expectations Student is able to explain their drawing and read their writing to the class. Student is able to answer questions and is able to explain how this animal lives in its habitat.	Meets Expectations Student is able to explain their drawing and summarize their writing to the class. Student is able to answer most questions about their project.	Progressing Towards Expectations Student is able to explain their drawing. Student is able to answer some questions about their project.	Does Not Meet Expectations Student only states their animal is not able to explain their drawing or writing. Students can not answer any questions about their project.
