You will choose a famous artist. You may choose a painter, a classical musician or a sculptor. Your artist can be from any period; gothic, baroque, renaissance or contemporary. You must research your artist and select a piece of particular interest to you. You will write five paragraphs. Lastly, choose your favorite piece and create your own interpretation of the piece.

Biography of artist: Name, date of birth, place of birth, events leading up to fame and other important facts about the author including where they trained, his or her masterpiece and if deceased.

Poor

Includes 3 or less facts. Wrote 4 or less sentences with many grammatical errors (articles, gender agreement, contractions, verb agreement and spelling). Did not follow directions.
Fair

Includes 4-5 facts. Wrote 5 or more sentences with 3 or more grammatical errors (articles, gender agreement, contractions, verb agreement and spelling). Followed some of the directions.
Good

Includes 6-7 facts. Wrote 5 or more sentences with no more than 2 grammatical errors (articles, gender agreement, contractions, verb agreement and spelling). Followed most of the directions.
Excellent

Includes 8 or more facts. Wrote 5 or more fluent sentences with no grammar errors (articles, gender agreement, contractions, verb agreement and spelling). Followed all directions.
