Classroom Participation and Behavior Classroom Participation and Behavior This rubric will be used by students as a self-evaluation tool. PARTICIPATION & BEHAVIOR RUBRIC

INITIATION	4 -Student is in seat silently doing entry task when bell rings.	3 -Student is in seat doing entry task when bell rings..	2 -Student is in seat not doing entry task when bell rings.	1 -Student is regularly late to class, and/or misses class often.
ON-TASK BEHAVIOR	4 -Student is ON-TASK and works PRODUCTIVELY. Rarely leaves the classroom, stays focused while in groups.	3 -MOSTLY on-task and worked productively. Leaves the classroom sometimes and stays mostly on task while in groups	2 -MOSTLY off-task and <BR> UNPRODUCTIVE. Frequent trips out of the room, needs to be refocused during group work	1 -NOT on-task nor productive. Excessive trips out the room, does not participate in group work.
PREPARATION	4 Student is PREPARED for class with assignments and suggested class materials and homework.	3 Student is MOSTLY prepared for class with assignments and suggested class materials and homework.	2 Student is normally not prepared for class with assignments and suggested class materials and homework.	1 Student is never prepared for class with assignments and suggested class materials and homework.
BEHAVIOR	4 Student SHOWS responsibility and respect and does NOT display disruptive behavior during class.	3 Student MOSTLY shows responsibility and respect and SOMETIMES displays disruptive behavior during class.	2 Student FREQUENTLY displays disruptive behavior such as: speaking out of turn, derailing conversations, and distracting classmates.	1 Student displays EXCESSIVE disruptive behavior such as: speaking out of turn, derailing conversations, and distracting classmates.
CONTRIBUTION	4 Student CONTRIBUTES to project by consistently turning in assignments on time and helping others when asked (or volunteering when need is seen).	3 Student meets MOST deadlines and often helps others to complete the project together.	2 Student does not meet deadlines on a regular basis and has to be asked to complete his/her own assignments more than once.	1 Student does not do his/her assignments, even when asked and refuses to help others complete the project.
