World Religion Project/Presentation Rubric

This activity allows students to research and identify various aspects of some of the major world religions including Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Confucianism. Students will use the World Wide Web to conduct research, recording their findings in Google Docs and Google Slides and complete a visual display of the information they find.

Organization 20 pts	WB There is no sequence of information.	DP Audience has occasional difficulty following presentation because group jumps around.	MP Group presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow.	ME Group presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow.
Subject Knowledge 20 pts	WB Significant gaps in subject knowledge.	DP Group is uncomfortable with information and is only able read what is on the paper/powerpoint.	MP Group is at ease with the information; he/she is able to add some additional information to the presentation, but fails to elaborate.	ME Group demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) with explanations and elaboration that enhance the presentation. All items of the Matrix are in the report and presentaton.
Mechanics 10 pts	WB Group's presentation has five or more spelling and/or grammatical errors.	DP Presentation has three misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	MP Presentation has no more than two misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	ME Presentation has no misspellings or grammatical errors.
Visual Appeal 20 pts	WB Presentation is completely thrown together and unappealing. Poster board. No content pictures. Doesn't match organization.	DP Presentation appearance is average. It is generally watchable and readable, but is not overly memorable.	MP Presentation is generally nice-looking. Poster board. Colorful with content pictures. Follows organization.	ME Presentation offers a combination of easy-to-read words of appropriate length, interesting and appropriate graphics, and vibrant colors. It is a delight to watch a unique presentation like this!
Group Participation 20 pts	WB Student did not take on any role in preparation of the group project	DP Student offered ideas, made some contribution, but allowed others in the group to lead.	MP Student made every effort to offer ideas, worked well with others in the group, did fair amount of worked.	ME Student showed excellent leadership in the group, gave ideas, made contributions to the group, listened to others ideas, delegated to others in the group.
Sources 10 pts	WB Student uses a minimum of 1 reliable sources.	DP Student uses a minimum of 3 reliable sources, with only one being Wikipedia.	MP Student uses a minimum of 4 reliable sources, with only one being Wikipedia.	ME Student uses a minimum of 5 reliable sources, with only one being Wikipedia.
