Information	Level 4 Student gives at least 5 facts about an influential African- American's birth, death (if applicable), family, education, and marriage.	Level 3 Student gives 4 facts about an influential African- American's life.	Level 2 Student gives 3 facts about an influential African- American's life.	Level 1 Student gives 2 or less facts about an influential African- American's life.
Contributions	Level 4 Student gives two examples of a detailed description of the person's contribution to society.	Level 3 Student gives one example of a detailed description of the person's contributions to society.	Level 2 Student gives a vague detailed description of the and contributions to society.	Level 1 Student does not give any description of the person's contributions to society.
Inspiration	Level 4 Students gives a detailed paragraph with 5 sentences or more stating how the person inspired them.	Level 3 Student gives a paragraph with four sentences stating how the person inspired them.	Level 2 Students gives little information (three or two sentences ) stating how the person inspired them.	Level 1 Student does not write a paragraph stating how the person inspired them.
