iRubric: Persuasive Argument/Analytical Research Paper rubric

--Introduction provides contexts for the topic, background research explanation, sets out what will happen in the paper, a strong and clear thesis statement (argument)
--Conclusion effectively wraps up the essay by summarizing all of the logical points, discussing the relevance and position of counter-claim, strengthens the thesis, concluding statement

--Introduction is strong but could be improved to better grab the reader's attention. Provides contexts for the topic, background research information, strong, clear thesis (argument). Does not explain the paper to follow.
--Conclusion is effective but could be stronger. Summarizes the logical argument. Mentions counterclaim but no analysis. Strenthens thesis.

--Introduction is included but does not grab the reader's attention. Thesis weak/broad. Not an argument.
--Conclusion is included but is marginally effective. Lists all of the points. Doers not analyze the relevance of the counterclaim.
