Applied Microbiology Group Presentation Rubric 
This rubric will assess the student in the teaching of a section of the Applied Microbiology chapter presentation to their classmates. Students chose a topic and will use the lecture presentation to teach the class about their topic. The students are assigned to a group and must take part in the preparation and presentation of all information.

Visual Aids/Props

Excellent

Visual aids appeared to be thoughtfully selected. And slides were not wordy and used relevant, concise, interesting graphics. And Presenters did not read or recite slides at all to the class.
Any videos used did not take up more than 1-2 minutes and were relevant.

Some thought and effort appeared to be put into the choice of visual aids but more effort would may have improved the presentation. Or Some slides contained too much text. Graphics were relevant. Or Presenters read or recited 1-2 slides to the class. Any videos took no more than 3 minutes.

Presenters read/recited from the slides for the entire presentation. Or Not much thought in selecting minimal graphics from outside sources.Or Most Slides contained too much text. Or Any videos took up more than 5 minutes of the alloted time.
Preparation

Excellent

Students used all class time given effectively, 10-12 minutes. It is obvious the presentation was thought out and rehearsed. All members contribute equally to the presentation.
Good

Students used most of the class time effectively. Students used the minimum time alloted (9+ minutes). Not all members of the group are as prepared to present and contribute to the group presentaion.
Poor

Students used some of the time effectively which reflects in their overall project. Students used less than 9 minutes. It is obvious which members did the work and do the majority of the presenting.
Not Demonstrated

Students did not use class time effectively and did no work on the project. Or Students used less than 6 minutes on the presentation. Or Some members do not participate in the presentation at all.
