Summary	Good The article is clearly summarized - only the key points of the article are touched upon. Short & sweet.	Fair The article is clearly summarized, but some minor points are addressed along with main points.	Poor The article summary is unclear or overly detailed.	Incomplete Does not complete summary. OR summary content is not addressed at all in article.
Your Opinion	Good Gives opinion of article content with at least 3 supporting reasons you feel this way. Gave one way you can use this new knowledge in the future.	Fair Gives opinion of article with 2 supporting reasons. Wrote one way you can use this knowledge in the future.	Poor Writes opinion with 1 (or zero) supporting details. Gives a way to use this knowledge in the future.	Incomplete Missing opinion and/or future knowledge piece.
Organization	Good Both the summary of the article and the response to it are well organized. At least one paragraph for summary and one paragraph for opinion.	Fair Both the summary of the article and the response to it are somewhat organized. Paragraph is lacking in organization. Choppy sentences/details.	Poor Neither the summary of the article, nor the response to it are organized. Very difficult to follow. Confusing but student gave a great effort.	Incomplete Student gave no effort in writing the paragraphs. Student did not edit to make sure audience can clearly read words written.
