Totem Pole Project 
The student will draw a totem pole using at least 5 symbols that represent the student's family or the student. The presentation must be accompanied by a paragraph explaining the symbolism the totem pole depicts. The student will also choose one element from their totem pole to draw to scale on graph paper.

Scale Element

Level 4

Scale element is neatly drawn and colored. The scale used is logical - the totem would be neither too larger nor too small if it were built to the scale.

Scale element is neatly done and identifies the scale used.
Level 2

Scale element is incomplete and/or does not identify the scale used.
Level 1

Scale element is missing.
