Black History Project
	Advanced 20 pts	Proficient 17 pts	Basic 14 pts	Below Basic 10 pts
Poster	Advanced The poster is creative and neat, containing the person's name, accomplishments and other facts about the Engineer/scientist.	Proficient The poster is neat and creative, but missing facts about the engineer/scientist.	Basic The poster is messy and not very creative and missing key elements. No the persons accomplishments, time line etc.	Below Basic Student did not complete a poster, or it is very messy and only focused on one area.
Research Paper	Advanced The report is factual and well researched. It is focused on the persons life and accomplishments. Explains the time period that the person lived. No spelling or grammar errors.	Proficient The report is well researched. Some facts or examples needed more detail. 1-2 grammar/spelling errors.	Basic The report was not well researched missing important elements: accomplishments, time period they lived and other facts about the person. 3-4 grammar/spelling errors.	Below Basic The report does not have a clear focus and show little research with no mention their accomplishments, life etc. 5 plus grammar/spelling errors.
Presentation	Advanced Student maintained eye contact during presentation, spoke clearly, and seemed very knowledgeable of their subject.	Proficient Student seemed very knowledgeable but had to look up some information every now and then.	Basic Student had to refer to notes during presentation or spoke too softly or not very clearly.	Below Basic Student does not seem to know what is going on or may have made up facts.
