Super Hero Essay Super Hero Essay The student will write an essay about their hero. The essay will identify the hero and tell why that person is their hero. Story/Introduction	Exemplary - A Grabs the readers interest right away in the first sentence with creative word choice and in the introduction paragraph identifies the congressional power.	Proficient - B Grabs the readers interest somewhere within the first paragraph and identifies the power.	Making Progress - C Attempts to grab the readers interest in the first paragraph, but is not quite able, and power is somewhat identified.	Not Yet - D The introduction does not grab the readers interest and doesn't identify the hero.
Specific Examples Includes Super power, and other elements: headquarters, secret identity, and sidekick.	Exemplary - A Includes at least 2 facts or specific examples of why this power is important. Includes 3 or more sentences with details to truly explain each example, headquarters, secret identity, sidekick	Proficient - B Includes at least 2 specific examples of why this power is important and only includes 2 or more sentences with details for each other elements. Making Progress - C The super hero is confusing and does not indicate the power, symbol or picture. The super hero is colored with very little effort.	Not Yet - D There is no super hero or photo included.
