Clarity/ Volume	Poor Speech was not understandable. Very few or no breaks in speech. Start of new ideas very unclear.	Fair Speech was not loud enough to be understood most of the time. Word/sentence breaks not distinguishable. Start of new ideas unclear.	Good Speech was loud enough to understand. On occasion words/sentence breaks were not distinguishable. Start of new ideas occasionally unclear.	Excellent Speech was loud. There were clear breaks between words, sentences, and ideas.
Pronunciation	Poor Pronunciation and lack of fluidity cause the presentation to be almost, if not completely incomprehensible	Fair Mistakes are made regularly in pronunciation and there is little fluidity in the speech. Comprehension is possible, but negatively affected.	Good Pronounces most of the words correctly and speaks clearly but with a few mistakes. Comprehension is not affected by performance.	Excellent Pronunciation and Fluidity in Speech are excellent with close to no mistakes made. Comprehension is easy.
Fluency	Poor Speech very choppy and little to no intonation.	Fair Speech was somewhat choppy and had little intonation.	Good Speech was occasionally choppy and intonation was usually used.	Excellent Speech flowed nicely and had good intonation.
Grammar and Vocabulary	Poor Vocabulary and Grammar are lacking. Many mistakes are made. Comprehension is negatively affected and presentation is almost incomprehensible.	Fair Grammatical mistakes are regularly made. Vocabulary is lacking. Comprehension negatively affected.	Good Appropriately uses correct vocabulary and grammar most of the time. There are mistakes made, but comprehension is not affected.	Excellent Appropriate usage of vocabulary words studied and very few grammatical mistakes were made. Easily comprehensible.
Opinions	Poor Student didn't express opinions well and clearly. Didn't use different phrases to give opinions and reasons. Speech was not complete and difficult to understand.	Fair Some opinions were not well thought out or lacked completeness. Used few phrases to express opinion. Speech was incomplete but overall meaning was conveyed.	Good Opinions were given and supported fairly well. Used phrases to express opinion and speech was coherent.	Excellent All opinions were given and supported completely with phrases and the speech was well understood.
