DEPTH 50 % Does the writing show understanding of the concept you're writing about?	Large Concern Writing does not show understanding of the concept or topic being written about.	Fair Concern Writing shows beginning level of understanding of the concept or topic being written about.	Developing Writing shows some understanding of the concept or topic being written about.	Application Writing shows general understanding of the concept or topic being written about.	Above + Beyond Writing shows deep, rich understanding of the concept or topic being written about.
READABILITY 50 % Can anyone reading it understand the points you are making?	Large Concern The reader cannot understand the points being made because the writing is not explained well enough.	Fair Concern The reader can understand some of the points being made because the writing is only halfway explained.	Developing The reader can "kind of, sort of, pretty much" understand the points being made because the writing is somewhat explained.	Application The reader can generally understand the points being made because the writing is sufficiently explained.
