Language Arts Notebook
	Poor 10 pts	Average 15 pts	Good 25 pts
Binder/Folder	Poor Student does not have a binder or folder.	Average Student has a binder, but notes are not put into the folder. Notes are falling out of binder.	Good Student has a binder and effectively uses it. Notes are put into pockets and/or rings.
Organization	Poor Notes scattered, not in any order.	Average Notes somewhat organized. Items found with difficulty.	Good Notes are organized by date and in correct order. Items can be found easily.
Frequency	Poor Notes rarely taken.	Average Notes taken 3 or 4 days a week.	Good Notes taken daily.
Neatness	Poor Notes are sloppy. Hand writing is hard to read.	Average Notes are readable, but not concise.	Good Notes are easily read and organized.
