This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint activity project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the PowerPoint presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your powerpoint have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

Slides are attractive. Font is easy to read and proper type and size for use. Backgrounds and graphics enhance text. Transitions and animations are logical and professional.
Good

Slides are attractive. Font is easy to read and proper size and style. Individual errors of positioning or size of elements but do not interfere with text. All elements are appropriate for topic. Transitions or animations may be occasionally "busy".
Fair

Graphics and layout sometimes interfere with presentation of text. Text size may be too large or small to be read easily or style may be incorrect. Some graphics do not relate to topic. Animations cause lists to be out of order.
Poor

Graphics often do not relate to content. Text is often difficult to read or incorrect style. Animations or transitions get in the way of smooth presentation. Missing elements detract from overall layout quality.
Design elements

All slides must have:

Excellent

All slides include each of the required elements.
Good

Individual elements missing on 2 or less slides, or multiple elements missing on one slide.
Fair

Individual elements missing on more that 2 slides or multiple elements missing on more than one slide.

Capitalization and punctuation are correct as instructed throughout the presentation. There are no grammatical errors.
Good

There are less than 2 grammatical or mechanical errors on the presentation.
Fair

There are less than 4 grammatical or mechanical errors on the presentation.
Poor

There are many grammar or mechanical errors on the presentation.
Instruction elements

Correctly following the instructions for including or positioning of the elements.

Excellent

All text, functions, and other elements are applied as per instructions throughout the presentation. There are no errors.
Good

There are 2 or less errors of the Activity 7 instruction elements on individual slides, or multiple elements missing on one slide.
Fair

There are individual instruction element errors on 3 or more slides or multiple elements on 2 or more slides.
Poor

More than half of the slides have Activity 4 errors of those things included in the instructions.
Text content

Quality of student produced text.

Excellent

Text is thought out and opinions are reinforced with examples. Writing style is formal and intended for presentation. Evidence of having seen and thought about the movie is present.
Good

Most opinions are supported with some breaks. Shows evidence of individual thought.
Language has minimal errors and is mostly formal.
Fair

Many opinions are not reinforced. Statement like "The acting was great" are made without specifics. Often exhibits a lack of individual thought. Language is sometimes formal but often is not.
Poor

Little evidence of having seen the movie. Opinions and examples are vague and without focus and / or minimal content is present. Language is not formal and contains many grammar and other errors.
