Title	Excellent Descriptive, appropriate, and interesting title!	Good Title provides a clue about the main character or setting of the story.	Inadequate Title is unrelated to the story.
Setting	Excellent Unusual, creative setting which creates dramatic tension in story.	Good Setting adds interest to the story.	Inadequate Setting is unclear or unremarkable.
Voice	Excellent Carefully chosen and arranged words reflect characters ages, personalities, and points of view.	Good Word choice is appropriate to the characters and reflects characters feelings and personalities.	Inadequate No evidence or specific characteristics used to support characters personalities.
Development	Excellent Has precise language which describes details unique to the setting and appropriate to the resolution.	Good Development has many interesting details.	Inadequate Very brief development of story, without details.
Problem/Solution	Excellent Problem is solved in an unusual, unexpected way.	Good Problem is solved by a fairy godmother who has personality shown in dialogue!	Inadequate Problem is not sufficiently solved. No resolution.
Grammar and Spelling	Excellent Only a few minor mistakes in the story.	Good Some minor mistakes in the story.	Inadequate Hard to understand because of many misspelled words and poor sentence structure.
