Presentation Rubric
	Outstanding 4 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Basic 2 pts	Beginning 1 pts
Content	Outstanding Presenters includes an event for summary of plot (including setting and main characters), the problem, your feelings/opinion, and an excerpt. Well-prepared.	Proficient Includes summary, the problem, your feelings/opinion and an excerpt. Presenter seems prepared.	Basic May include summary, the problem, your feelings/opinion and an excerpt, but gives too much or not enough information. Presenter has not given enough forethought to the presentation.	Beginning Does not include summary, the problem, your feelings/opinion or an excerpt. Presenter has not given forethought to what he/she was going to say.
Word Choice/Persuasion	Outstanding Exciting, getting to suspense, but not spoiling the book. Convinces you to read the book.	Proficient Interesting, connects to the audience, tells just enough.	Basic Hardly convincing, spoils some of the book, loses the audience, tells why you like the book but does not connect to the audience.	Beginning Unconvincing, spoils the book, does not tell why or why not you enjoy the book, uninteresting.
Volume	Outstanding Clearly heard, loudness matches mood, the dynamics match the text, agrees with the written text.	Proficient Audible, clear, has some dynamics, volume is acceptable.	Basic Audible but not clear, has little dynamics.	Beginning Inaudible.
Fluency	Outstanding Can understand every word, sounds like they are speaking in a conversation, does not stumble, may be memorized.	Proficient Clear, has practiced, annunciation, may stumble but doesn't detract.	Basic Can't understand some key words, needs practice.	Beginning Mumbling, lots of stumbling, no practice.
Creativity	Outstanding Creatively uses a variety of effective visual aids and/or other methods of delivery.	Proficient Show moderately effective creative use of a variety of visual aids and/or other methods of delivery.	Basic Show limited effective creative use of a variety of visual aids and/or other methods of delivery.	Beginning No creativity.
