Journal Entry	Excellent 4 Details in the entry give the reader important information. The information relates back to the story and contains specific details.	Good 3 Details in the entry give the reader important information. The information relates back to the story and contains some detail.	Fair 2 Details in the entry give some information to the reader though they may not relate back to the websites that were read story and contains little detail.	Poor 1 Details in the entry give little to no detail and do not relate to the story.
Convention	Excellent 4 The entry follows appropriate journal format and includes all elements (date, greeting, signature, etc.)	Good 3 The mostly follows appropriate journal format and includes most elements.	Fair 2 The entry somewhat follows journal format, and is missing many elements.	Poor 1 The entry does not follow journal format and does not include the required elements.
Organization	Excellent 4 Ideas are organized logically, clearly, and in a meaningful manner.	Good 3 Ideas are organized in a clear and meaningful way.	Fair 2 Ideas are organized somewhat clearly, but the organization could be improved upon.	Poor 1 Organization of ideas is so fractured that it takes away from the content and makes it difficult for the reader to understand what has been written.
Word Choice and grammar	Excellent 4 The language included is highly descriptive and includes perfect grammar or no more than one error.	Good 3 The language included uses descriptive words and very few grammar errors.	Fair 2 Language used does not use many descriptive words and there are numerous errors in grammar.	Poor 1 Language used is dull and plain. There are significant and numerous mistakes in grammar.
