Watershed Model Project
3D Model of a Cell (or an Organelle)
Students will create a model watershed by crumpling up paper and placing it in a box, then covering the paper with plastic sheeting to create topography. They will use water food dye to trace the movement of water over their region and identify watersheds, streams, lakes, and outlets. Students diagram their watershed illustrating hydrological flow patterns and identifying separate watersheds.
