Good Letter follows designated guidelines but could use additional length to develop the concepts described in the assignment.	Excellent Letter follows designated guidelines and is appropriate length to develop concepts described in assignment.
Ideas and Historic Content	Unsatisfactory The setting of my letter is unclear, and the characters’ experiences are often historically inaccurate.	Needs Improvement Letter informs reader when and where the story is set but makes no attempt to include historically accurate facts or details.	Fair Time & place of character is clear, but their experiences are more like a list than a letter or diary entry; some details may be historically inaccurate.	Good Letter reveals the time and place my character lived and describes a day in their life; most or all details are historically accurate. Voice and Tone	Unsatisfactory Letter is too formal and shows no signs of a real person in it.
