Similie/Metaphor
	Poor 10 pts	Fair 15 pts	Good 25 pts
Following Directions Students will write a similie for themselves on the side labeled Similie. The student will write a metaphor for themselves on the side labeled Metaphor.	Poor Student does not follow directions.	Fair Student somewhat follows directions for assignment.	Good Student follows directions completely. Similes will contain "like or "as". Both sentences will begin with a capital, end with a punctuation mark, and makes sense.
Work Ethic 1. Works quietly at desk. 2. Works independently does not copy others 3. Is willing and able to help others if needed	Poor Student has to repeatedly asked to work quietly, or stay in their seat.	Fair Student partially completes work and is working quietly at desk 75% of the time.	Good Student completes work quietly at desk not desturbing any other students and is willing to help others when needed.
Product 1. Completes product following all directions given.<BR> 2. Product is neat and complete to best of students ability	Poor Student is unable to complete independent work on his/her own and does not ask for help. Assignment turned in late.	Fair Student completes part of the independent work on his/her, but asks for help as needed.	Good Student completes independent work on his/her own without assistance and displays strong understanding.
Conventions Capitals, punctuation, sentence structure	Poor Sentences do not make sense. Sentences are missing punctuation, capitals	Fair Sentences are only missing one punctuation mark or capital.	Good Similes will contain "like or "as". Both sentences will begin with a capital, end with a punctuation mark, and makes sense.
