Social Commentary Research Paper Rubric 
In this unit we experienced Literature as an effective form of Social Commentary. How did the readings in this unit affect people and instigate awareness and change? Use examples from the readings to support your position. Readings: “Theme for English B” by Langston Hughes, “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut, and “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” by MLK Jr.

Acceptable

The research paper does not fulfill its purpose of providing information about a topic. The information on the chosen topic is sparse, and the paper lacks significant details. The paper also contains irrelevant information.
Partial Understanding

The purpose of the research paper is not clear. The writer did not do appropriate research. There is not enough information on the stated topic, or the information is not about the stated topic.
