Whalerider Newspaper Story 
Students will write a newspaper article based on a police report of a girl found floating on a bed of kelp off of Wainui Beach. It will include Who, What, Where, When, Why and How and interviews with 3 main characters, information about traditional beliefs about whales and about whales beaching themselves. The article will include a picture of a whale and a Maori village.
