Video news broadcast 
Working in groups (3-4 people), create a television news broadcast video. News broadcast must be 10 minutes or more in length and include anchor report, news story, and breaking news segment. News story and breaking news segment must be about Disaster. Students should use titles, images, video, and transitions.

Great clarity, voice projection, no laughing that obscures scene, speaking in complete sentences and not choppy phrases. Preparation/Planning is above par.

Missing one of the previous elements.Preparation/Planning is evident.
Fair

Missing two of the previous elements and/or Preparation/Planning needs improvement.
Poor

Missing more than 2 elements or you can't understand or hear and lacks preparation/planning. More work is needed.
Direction

Excellent

Excellent direction. Different scenes in film flow together naturally with transitions. The overall product is very smooth and well thought out/edited.
Good

Good direction. There are transitions/flow between scenes. The end result is smooth and edited.
Fair

Adequate direction. Some transitions are missing or scenes do not flow together well. The end result is smooth but more editing and fluidity is needed.
Poor

Poorly directed. Film does not flow/not smooth. Parts are hard to understand or lack structure or direction. Lacks editing.
Teamwork

Excellent

All members contributed an equal significant role to the film.
Good

All members contributed to the project, but some members did not play as significant a role in the production as a whole.
Fair

All members at least contributed something. Some members are far less prominent in the production and video than others.
Poor

Not all members contributed to the project. or one or more of the project members contributed almost nothing to the production.
Enhancements/Effects
20 pts

Excellent

Effects and enhancements are excellent. The quality is excellent and adds depth to the overall broadcast.
Good

Effects and enhancements are good. The quality is good and adds understanding to the overall broadcast.
Fair

Effects and enhancements are acceptable, but better selections and/or more work was needed to add depth and quality to the overall broadcast.
Poor

Effects and enhancements distract viewers and lack quality and depth to the broadcast.
