Reflection is completed in a minimum of two complete paragraphs. The two paragraphs is written using eight to six complete sentences.
Needs Improvement
Reflection is incomplete. It is written in one paragraph, or five or less sentences.
Response Quality
Exceeds Expectations
Reflections are fully developed and strongly on-topic. It shares your thoughts or feelings towards a song or artist.
Acceptable
Reflections are acceptably developed and remain on-topic for the most part. It may be a summary of a song addressed in class, and not sufficient amount of personal connection.
Needs Improvement
Reflections are underdeveloped and do not remain on-topic. The response may be a summary of a song.
Citation
Exceeds Expectations
Student has cited the song of their choice two or more times in the reflection.
Acceptable
Student has made an acceptable attempt to cite the song at least one time in their response.
Needs Improvement
Student did not cite the song in their response.
Grammar and Conventions
Exceeds Expectations
Student utilizes superior organization in their reflections that adds to overall development of response. Reflections has four or less grammatical and mechanical errors.
Acceptable
Student attempts organization. Reflections have limited grammatical and mechanical errors, seven or less, that do not interfere with meaning.
Needs Improvement
Reflections have grammatical and mechanical errors that interfere with meaning.
