Writing a Summary Writing a Summary Write a summary about a piece of writing you read. Include WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and Why. The summary should include at least one paragraph. Your summary should be neatly written. You should have an introductory sentence that states the topic of the summary. You should use transition words to help with the flow of the paragraph. Student demonstrated a fairly good grasp of how to present the information.	Distinguished The summary exceeded the stated requirements. All relevant information was listed and elaborated upon. The student was able to make connections between the information.
