iRubric: Student Led Discussions rubric

Discussion is thoroughly organized with an article, warm-up, review, discussion protocol, and reflection. All aspects are well-timed and clear to the class. Many (6+) discussion questions are prepared in advance.

Discussion is organized with minor lapses in the necessary materials: an article, warm-up, review, discussion protocol, and reflection. Aspects are well-timed, and class has little issue with clarity. Discussion questions (4-5) are prepared in advance.

Discussion is somewhat organized with some lapses in the necessary materials. Aspects are not well-timed and there is class confusion at times. Discussion questions (1-3) are prepared in advance.

Discussion is not well organized and has major gaps in necessary materials. Class is confused often. Discussion questions are not prepared in advance.

Participation consistently shows evidence of critical/reflective thinking &/or ethical reasoning, making connections to self, text, and the world.

Participation shows critical thinking/reflective thinking &/or ethical reasoning most of the time, makes a few connections to self, text, and the world.

Participation shows minimal critical thinking/reflective thinking &/or ethical reasoning. Leaves out connections.

Participation lacks evidence of critical/reflective thinking or ethical reasoning. Minimal effort evidenced.
