Prewriting	Accomplished Shows the use of prewriting ideas for this piece of writing	Developing Shows some use of prewriting ideas for this piece of writing	Emerging Shows little use of prewriting ideas for this piece of writing
Rough Draft	Accomplished Rough draft includes prewriting ideas . Evidence shows that student used step one to write the rough draft.	Developing Rough draft includes limited ideas from Prewriting. An attempt was made to include the information from steps one in the rough draft.	Emerging Rough draft includes little to no ideas from Prewriting.
Revising & Editing	Accomplished Student revision shows adequate changes made to content and ideas in writing. Details were added to make the writing better. Few errors were made in capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.	Developing Student attempted to make minimal changes in writing, by focusing on editing. But still frequent errors were made in capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.	Emerging Student spent little to no time revising & editing. Little to no changes were made to piece based upon the class directions or student's revising goal. Numerous errors in conventions/grammar make it hard to understand the composition.
