Character Mask Rubric Macbeth Character Mask This lesson covers making a mask with the idea of expressing characteristics of a character from Augusta and Noble. Students will accomplish this by creating symbols through design, color, and added materials while demonstrating the use of symbolism to represent their character. An artist's statement must follow. Symbolism Symbols, images, designs represent ideas about the character.	1 The mask does not represent ideas about the character.	2 The mask begins to represent ideas about the character.	3 The mask uses several symbols/images/designs to represent ideas about the character.	4 The mask cohesively uses symbols/images/designs to represent ideas about the character.
Facial expressions Suggest something about the character's personality.	1 Facial expressions are not used with a sense of purpose.	2 Facial expressions begin to be used with a sense of purpose.	3 Facial expressions reflect a sense of purpose in portraying the character.	4 Facial expressions clearly reflect a sense of purpose in portraying the character.
